3 KEY INGREDIENTS TO START A BUSINESS! AND WHAT STOPS YOU FROM DOING THEM!

Sep 15, 2020

In this episode I’m sharing my MUST-HAVE 3 ingredients to starting a business and HOW to be successful throughout the process!

After being a successful business owner of 10 years, having MULTIPLE businesses, and being a full-time coach and mentor, you can say I’ve learned a thing or two through the life experiences and challenges I’ve faced.

Through those 10 years, the knowledge I gained centers around three things. Sales, Marketing, and Improving my craft!

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

  • How to overcome the fear of not being good enough (01:27)
  • Don’t be afraid of sucking when starting a business; nobody expects perfection (05:28)
  • Businesses are about momentum and evolving, not perfection (07:09)
  • Sales are the most important thing to a business (10:58)
  • Marketing is the lifeline of a business (11:29)
  • How to perfect your craft after you have started your business (12:02)
  • You don’t have to wait for...

WHAT IF YOU’RE WRONG? WHEN YOUR TRUTHS ARE LIES!

Sep 08, 2020

“You are who you choose to be” - anonymous

The idea of “truth” is a delicate thing. To you “truth” may mean one thing and for me it may mean something completely different.

As individuals we take on things that may ultimately mean something different for us than they would for someone else. It’s a belief system that's unique to us. Whereas, facts, are solid proof. There’s physical data, video, statistics, etc. So why are we talking about truth versus facts?

Because the truths we choose to believe determine so many crucial aspects of our lives. From parenting, to politics, to goals; the truths we believe are impacting our day to day life.

However, the problem is when we have to make excuses for “our truth” or “our beliefs” as individuals because we are seeking validation for the actual truth.

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

  • Men need to go to the...

Time, Quality, Or Money? Which Do You Spend More Of?

Sep 01, 2020

Let’s talk about currency!

I truly believe there are three types of currency in our lives!

  1. Time
  2. Quality
  3. Money!!!

Sure we all value money. When we grow up we turn our wild “wanna be” dreams into what “dreams” will make us the most money. Am I right to think this?

Look at this way…

When we ask kids what they want to be when they grow up they always say something crazy like a superhero. And then when reality hits them and they start to grow up, their dreams start to become more realistic.

But when we’re younger we don’t think about the other types of currency cause we’re so programmed to think about the big picture; MONEY!

So we’re here to offer a different perspective. What if we eliminate money from the picture and instead we choose to value time and quality!

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

  • Why time is important for us because you can never get it...

Showing Up When Your Backs Against The Wall!

Aug 25, 2020

One of our greatest enemies in life is time. People always complain that we never have “enough” time. Or we wait for the “perfect” time? But really we do have enough time, we just don’t use it wisely enough and to be honest, there is no such thing as a “perfect” time; you just have to decide when.

To be blunt, time isn’t always on your side. Which means that you just have to roll with it and do it anyway. Hence, showing up when your back is against the wall! Just show up and show out.

We got into this idea and more in this week’s episode of the PUSH Podcast!

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

  • Decision making when you are under pressure (08:15)
  • Intentionally putting your back against the wall when time is not on your side (15:22)
  • Once you make a decision, keep moving (16:54)
  • Shifting your perspective; you might be magnifying the problem (19:25)
  • Perfection...

DISCIPLINE and WILLPOWER- Why You Might Suck At Both!

Aug 18, 2020

When was the last time you broke a commitment?

I’ll tell you, mine was a few days ago.

If you follow me on social media then you know that at the beginning of this month I started a 30-day Yoga challenge. Not because I wanted to lose weight or become healthier (although those are HUGE pluses). I did it because I wanted to show up for myself and prove that I could stay committed to something not because I had to but because I was determined to show myself some self-love and build confidence.

I wasn’t angry with myself that I broke that commitment. I wasn’t disappointed either. Instead, I was more eager to get back on track and finish out the challenge.

As humans, specifically women, we get so down on ourselves whenever we “break” a commitment. It cruses our self-esteem and we immediately beat ourselves up to the point where we’re practicing negative self-talk.

I’m here to tell you...

Cut Your Losses

Aug 04, 2020

Have you ever just held onto something for so long that you don’t see anyway you can get rid of it now because you’ve had it for so long?

Well that was Eddie and I over this past weekend and we did it...

We FINALLY decided to cut our losses and get rid of our “must haves” that we haven’t touched in YEARS!

For Eddie that would be his DVD/BluRay collection and for me, it’s my HUNDREDS of CD’s.

Although Eddie had more trouble letting go than I did, it’s hard to let go of something that had so much VALUE to you in another season of your life.

Those valuables become almost a part of you and when you let them go, you’re releasing that part of who you used to be. For many of us, it’s difficult to let go and release that part of ourselves.

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

  • Selling items from our storage unit in a garage sale (03:59)
  • How...

How To Let Go Of Your Expectations

Jul 28, 2020

Have you ever had a conversation with your significant other, best friend, or relative and realized about halfway through that there was no way you were going to agree with the decision made.

We’ve all been there; including myself and Eddie, but that’s why I believe our relationship is so great. There’s a mutual respect for one another’s opinion and ultimately we’re able to show one another a new perspective on what we’re discussing.

Why I bring this up now is because we were discussing a book we were reading with our PUSHER Society (if you haven’t joined or heard about it, you should definitely get in ASAP ) and it triggered a conversation that I completely disagree with.

In the book it discusses that we create everything twice in our lifetime, but for me I believe that life is ever-changing and ever-evolving, and it’s up to us to recreate and revise what we see for our lives as we move...

Random Sh!t With The Copelands And Jess!

Jul 21, 2020

Being stuck in quarantine has resulted in some very unpredictable behavior from the Copelands! Am I alone in this?

Ever since quarantine started, Eddie and I have been doing things that are way out of our character! We’ve been watching t.v. (which normally NEVER HAPPENS)! I’ve been gardening, which if you’ve asked me at the beginning of this year if I considered myself to have a green thumb, I would have called you INSANE!) And Eddie has been playing basketball! Honestly, WTH is going on!

I don’t know what this world is coming too but ever since this quarantine has started, I’ve been learning things about myself that I never knew I had in me; and to be honest, I’m all for it!

This week on the podcast we’re getting REAL about our current obsessions and just random sh*t we’ve been experiencing during this quarantine.

Here’s a breakdown of what Eddie and I discussed…

Friends...How many of us have them?

Jul 14, 2020

Friendships are pretty tricky aren’t they?

There’s seasons for every type of friendship. It’s almost as if you have to put them into categories. You have your friends that you grew up with (the ones you share the BIG memories with), your work friends, your gym friends, friends in your neighborhood or friends from church.

Then there’s the friends that represent what stage of life you’re in. There are your growth friends who are all about growing and mindset work and practicing higher level thinking. There’s your party friends who you just wanna go out with on a Friday night. Then there’s the friends you go to when you just need to feel vulnerable and vent about a shitty situation.

One thing they all have in common though is that each relationship is meaningful, no matter the category. Meaningful relationships require effort, attention to detail and need to be nurtured.

This week we’re...
