Now that Easter is over, let me ask you something…

Did you actually learn anything from Easter?

Or did you just get through it… 😅

Because THIS right here is where most bakery owners get it wrong- and WHY they stay stuck in the same cycle and DESPISE working during the holidays.

They:

  • Stress…
  • Sell… (maybe not a lot)
  • Burn out…
  • Move on…

And then wonder why nothing is improving.

Friend… we’re not doing that anymore.

If you want to make more money, with less chaos, then every holiday needs to become a strategy session- not just a sales event.

WHY THE POST-HOLIDAY DEBRIEF IS NON-NEGOTIABLE

I don’t care if you SOLD OUT or barely made any sales.

Either way- you have DATA.

And that data is your BLUEPRINT to growing your business.

Because here’s the truth:

If you don’t stop to analyze what just happened, you are GUARANTEED to repeat the same mistakes.

And THIS is exactly why so many business owners feel stuck, overwhelmed, and constantly behind…

Because they’re always reacting and RARELY refining.

WHAT YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY BE REVIEWING AFTER EASTER

Not just “did I make money?”…

We’re going deeper than that.

1. Product Performance
  • What SOLD OUT?
  • What was your BEST sellers?
  • What didn’t perform so well?
  • What COST your business the most money to produce?
  • What had the highest perceived value?

👉 An example of this would be:

If your Easter cookie boxes flew off the shelves but your custom cakes didn’t…

That’s not random. That’s buyer behavior.

2. Marketing Effectiveness
  • When did you start promoting?
  • How many times did you ACTUALLY post?
  • Did you send any marketing emails?
  • WHERE do you focus your marketing efforts?
  • What posts got engagement vs. actual SALES?
  • Did you create anticipation… or just post and pray?

Because if you only started talking about Easter a week before…

We already found your marketing problem.

3. Operations + Systems

  • Where did things feel chaotic and overwhelming?
  • What slowed you down?
  • What could’ve been prepped earlier?
  • Did you run into any staffing issues?

This is where burnout is born OR eliminated.

4. Financial Results (THE BIG ONE)

  • What was your actual PROFIT?
  • Not revenue… PROFIT.
  • What product COST you the most to make?
  • What products brought in the MOST profit?

Because being “busy” and being “profitable” are NOT the same thing.

THE REAL STRATEGY: EASTER → MOTHER’S DAY

Now THIS is where most of you are leaving money on the table…

You treat holidays like separate events.

They’re not. And whether you participate in them or not, they’re REVENUE-generating opportunities for your business. And your goals as a business owner should be to TURN those one-time, holiday customers into RECURRING, LOYAL buyers!

I teach this all the time:

👉 “Whatever you sell for one holiday should set up the next one.”

Your Easter customers? They are your BEST Mother’s Day customers.

Why?

Because they’ve already:

  • Purchased from you
  • Trusted you
  • Experienced your product

And now you’re gonna… what?

Ignore them? Start from scratch? NO…

HOW TO TURN EASTER SALES INTO MOTHER’S DAY REVENUE

Here’s what this actually looks like:

Step 1: Capture Your Customers

If you didn’t collect emails, phone numbers, or repeat buyer data…

We need to fix that ASAP.

Because that list = your next launch.

Step 2: Start Talking About Mother’s Day NOW

Not next week.

Not “when you have time.”

NOW.

Because whether you think they are or not, customers are already planning, so we NEED to start planting the seeds and get the conversation going.

Step 3: Build on What Already Worked

Don’t reinvent the wheel.

If you saw success with ONE product- continue leaning into that.

  • If smaller, cost-efficient items sold → lean into bundles
  • If gift-able products worked → double down
  • If convenience sold → highlight it HARDER

MOTHER’S DAY: THE SALES STRATEGY THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING

Mother’s Day is NOT just another holiday.

It’s a gift-giving holiday.

Which means:

  • Emotion drives purchases
  • Convenience matters MORE than customization
  • Presentation = perceived value

And when I implemented a strong strategy around this?

I made $17,000 in less than 2 hours.

Not by working harder…

By planning smarter. So here is your 5-Step Game Plan to WIN this Mother’s Day!

YOUR 5-STEP MOTHER’S DAY GAME PLAN

1. Review Last Year’s Data

What actually SOLD?

Not what you liked

Not what you thought would do well

What SOLD according to the DATA! Data is your BEST FRIEND!

2. Plan Your Menu (KEEP IT SIMPLE)

This is not the time to overcomplicate things.

Keep your menu simple, efficient for your production, and focus on your presentation.

As business owners, this is the time to get REALLY creative with how we are presenting our offers so we stand out against those big box stores like Walmart, Target, and your local grocery store.

3. Open Pre-Orders EARLY

Pre-orders = predictability.

They allow you to:

  • PREP in advance
  • Predict Inventory needs
  • Adjust and audit revenue goals prior to the actual holiday
  • Set pick-ups + delivery times
4. Prep Your Systems + Team

You should NOT be figuring things out 2 days before Mother’s Day. The WEEK before you should have:

  • Assigned roles
  • Created cheat sheets for your employees/helpers
  • Started PREPPING batters, decorations, and organizing your packaging

This is how CEOs operate… not just bakers.

5. Plan out your MARKETING

This is the BIGGEST mistake most bakers make when preparing for Holidays. They start only marketing their products about 1-2 weeks before… but that just puts you BEHIND. You need at least a 4-6 week marketing runway, which means for Mother’s Day, we NEED to START now!

Here’s what your marketing SHOULD look like right now:

  • Behind the scenes of product testing
  • Sneak peeks of packaging
  • Talking about WHO, this is perfect for
  • Sharing past customer experiences
  • Dropping hints BEFORE you announce your full menu

You’re not just selling and planting seeds in the minds of your customers BUT building momentum.

AND THEN… AFTER MOTHER’S DAY?

We do it all again.

BUT BETTER.

Because now you:

  • Have more data
  • Have more experience
  • Have more clarity

And THIS is how you stop feeling like:

“Why am I working so hard but not getting ahead?”

FINAL TRUTH (AND YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE IT…)

The difference between the baker who’s always stressed out and overwhelmed…

And the one who’s consistently booked, profitable, and ahead?

It’s NOT talent.

It’s NOT followers.

It’s STRATEGY.

And strategy comes from:

👉 Reflection

👉 Data

👉 Planning

Not guessing.
