Sorry... (I Ain't sorry!) - How To PROPERLY Apologize!

Have you ever just apologized to someone because you wanted to move on from an obstacle, issue, or problem that has been lingering over your relationship?

If you said no, you’re probably lying cause I can guarantee everyone has done it at least once in their lifetime whether they realize it or not.

It’s so easy for us to give half-ass apologies especially when we’re young because with friends you get into little disagreements here and there, you talk about it, and push it under the rug.

Now that we’re entering into an age of cancel culture and it seems like every celebrity or person of influence is apologizing for something new everyday. It’s easy to see who’s being genuine and who’s just following a PR script.

On the flip side, as we get older, and we experience new things, as we grow, actions that mirror actions of a teenager are no longer acceptable.

For example, if you’ve listened to episode number 93, then you know about the drama that went down at my little sister’s graduation party with her childhood friend who we called, “Julie.”

Now that time has passed, “Julie” has approached my sister numerous times with “half-ass apologies” and my sister, who isn’t ready to accept them, is now being attacked by “Julie” for not accepting her apologies.

Once my sister came to me seeking advice for the situation and with the cancel culture being in full effect lately, Eddie and I decided now was the perfect time to discuss HOW TO APOLOGIZE!

Admitting that you’re wrong and sincerely apologizing is one of the hardest things you can do. No one's perfect and we are all going to make mistakes but it's important to learn how to apologize effectively in order to maintain healthy and strong relationships.

We have all heard people say, 'I didn't mean to do it, 'I was just kidding,' and statements along those lines that are just half-hearted. Maybe you’ve even said the exact same thing when apologizing.
