Hey Friend! I'm Janelle Copeland! I'm the founder of the award-winning bakery, The Cake Mamas! Started out of my home in 2009, with nothing, I built The Cake Mamas into a BELOVED brand and business throughout our community and gained fans from ALL over the world. After multiple appearances (and winning) on Food Network, the Cake Mamas EXPLODED.
For over a decade, The Cake Mamas was more than just a bakery—it was the heart of a community. We made cakes for birthdays, weddings, and life’s most special moments. We turned simple ingredients into edible art.
However, as we grow and change our passions and priorities change too. In 2017, I discovered my LOVE for mentoring and coaching other small business owners in the food industry and started to pivot away from my day-to-day life in my bakery. So at the end of 2019, I announced I was RETIRING from my bakery to pursue coaching as a new passion! However, COVID had other plans. In 2020, I had the GREATEST year in business I ever had, despite all the hardships and challenges. This taught me that sometimes, God has other plans for us no matter how READY we are for something new. Being thrown back into the day-to-day grind of running my bakery gave me a new appreciation for the business owners who are in the thick of it, trying to grow their businesses. And it lit that fire in me even more to pursue this "coaching" thing full-time.
However, I knew I couldn't wrap a bow on this chapter of my life without saying, "THANK YOU" to the amazing customers who supported us for all those years. Those customers who have since become like family.
For years, I’d received messages, emails, and DMs from fans asking for our recipes, baking tips, and business advice.
