If coaching THOUSANDS of bakers and small business owners for over 8 years now has taught me anything, it’s this:

Every year, it’s the same story… bakers complaining WHY their holiday sales aren’t what they want or expected them to be.

They create AMAZING products they love.

They share them on social media and in their email newsletters.

They reveal their seasonal menus.

They cross their fingers and HOPE customers will pull the trigger and buy.

But spoiler alert, friend… that’s not a strategy.

And I say this with love - BUT if you want your bakery business to sell out this holiday season, you can’t keep doing what everyone else is doing. You can’t wing it, and “figure it out” as you go, you can’t wait until the week before the actual Holiday to start promoting your products, and you definitely can’t rely on a “post and pray” method.

Because the truth is…you can’t just BAKE your way to MORE sales. You need a PLAN, not just pretty products.

So, if you’re ready to learn how to turn your seasonal chaos into consistent cash flow, I’m breaking down the ultimate holiday sales strategy that helps my clients sell out every single year.

Let’s get into it 👇

Research Like a CEO, Not a Hobbyist

Research is EVERYTHING, especially when it comes to the holidays. The more you know about how people actually want to celebrate, the easier it’ll be to create offers that feel like no-brainers.

Before you decide what to sell or how to package it, ask yourself:

  • What matters most to my ideal client right now?
  • How does this holiday impact them emotionally?
  • What’s happening in the world right now that might affect how they buy or celebrate?

When you take the time to understand what your customers care about - what they’re feeling and needing - you’ll start creating products that SOLVE problems instead of just creating products just to create them.

Because here’s the thing: people don’t buy “cute boxes of cookies.”

They buy back TIME.

They buy Convenience

They buy HAPPINESS.

Create offers that EXUDE value

There are several ways to entice people to buy what you’re offering, but the most important thing is to create an offer that screams VALUE.

Creating a product that solves a problem your customer doesn’t even know they have is the first step to making your product a NO-BRAINER purchase.

Don’t just ask, “What do I feel like making this year?”

Ask, “What does my customer need right now?”

Maybe they’re busy parents looking for something quick and festive.

Maybe they’re corporate clients who want to impress their team with unique gifts.

Maybe they just want something easy that still feels special.

Your goal is to make your product feel like the perfect answer to their holiday stress.

When your offer feels like a solution - not just another option - your customers won’t hesitate to buy.

Create Valuable Content That Shows Off Your Product

Once you’ve decided WHAT products you’re going to offer, let’s talk about how you show it off.

Posting a photo and saying “now taking orders!” isn’t enough anymore.

You’ve gotta INFORM and ENTERTAIN your audience while showing off your product’s value.

Think of your content in five categories:

  • Validation: They wanna be seen and heard. They also wanna know they’re not alone. Show your audience you GET what they’re going through. (“You’re tired. You’re overwhelmed. Let me make life a little easier.”)
  • Informative: Inform your customers about your product or offer. What exactly does it entail? Be descriptive and list the benefits. Teach them something useful.
  • Entertaining: This is your chance to show off your personality. Share your brand story. This is an easy way to connect with your followers and potential customers. (“POV: Moms buying their own Christmas gifts like…)
  • Helpful: Share something your customers don’t know about your product. How can purchasing this product or offer make their life easier? Give tips or solutions that tie into your offer. (“No time to bake? Grab our holiday pre-order box!)
  • Relatable: They aren’t buying into your product, they’re buying into YOU. If they trust you, if they connect with you, they’re more likely to buy from you. Speak their language. (“Raise your hand if you’ve already eaten your body weight in cookies this Holiday season? 😅”)

Every single post should make your audience feel something - seen, inspired, understood, or excited. Because emotion is what drives them to BUY.

Hook Em’ In!

If you want people to STOP their scroll, you have to know what INFLUENCES them.

What makes them pause? What makes them think, “OMG, this is me”?

This all comes back to knowing WHO your ideal customer is and what they struggle with. When you understand their pain points - their stress, guilt, overwhelm, desires - you can create content that speaks directly to that.

Example:

“Don’t have time to bake 5 dozen cookies for your kid’s class party? I got you. Order your ready-to-go cookie kits before they sell out!”

That kind of messaging hits different. Because it’s not just about what you sell - it’s about why they need it.

If you know their struggles and desires, you’re more likely to create products or offers that SERVE them, making it more likely they’ll buy.

Consistency + Preparation are KEY

The more you show up with VALUE, the more your audience remembers you.

This doesn’t mean spamming your feed or email list with “buy my sh*t” posts.

It means creating intentional, purposeful content that shows how your product SOLVES their problems.

Show up in stories.

Send reminder emails.

Share behind-the-scenes videos.

Talk about your offer from different angles.

And here’s your reminder: big sales don’t happen overnight.

In this economy, customers want instant gratification, which means they’ll wait until the last minute to buy because they’re conditioned to receive almost immediately (aka AMAZON) - but that doesn’t mean YOU should wait until the last minute to promote.

The longer your product is in front of them, the longer it stays top-of-mind. And you condition your customer to THINK OF YOU when it comes time for them to actually purchase.

Stay consistent. Stay visible. Stay patient.

The bottom line...

If you wanna sell out this season and have RECORD-BREAKING sales:

1️⃣ Create products that SOLVE problems.

2️⃣ Show off the VALUE behind what you offer.

3️⃣ Stay consistent, patient, and prepared.

Because when you lead with value - instead of desperation - the sales will follow. Every. Single. Time.
