What do the holidays mean to you?
Does it mean laughing with friends and family?
Does it mean eating all the holiday treats?
Does it mean shopping all the holiday sales?
Or maybe it brings about anxiety and overwhelm? Or even sadness and grief?
For myself, the holidays are centered around my five favorite “F” words…
Faith
Food
Family
Foundation
Fitness (fitness is last because I’m all about the holiday treats)
I look forward to the holidays every year because it means spending unplugged quality time with my family and the people I love the most. It also means eating a SH*T ton of delicious meals, laughing til we cry, and celebrating our favorite traditions.
However, I know everyone doesn’t celebrate the holidays like I do and that’s OKAY! For some people, the holidays are a challenging time because it triggers loss, sadness, and grief. It can also feel really overwhelming and stressful with all the things that come along with gathering for the holidays; like gift giving to seeing those family members you don’t really ever want to see.
This is WHY we wanted to re-release this special episode of the podcast to hopefully remind people that as you go through the holiday season to be graceful, empathic, and kind to whoever you come across because you never know WHO’S path you’ll cross and HOW they view this time of year.
