So, let’s dive into the five ways to make your booth STAND OUT at your next event.
Unpopular opinion: Events are more about introducing your BRAND and BUSINESS to new customers rather than making money. Your booth needs to look just as amazing as your baked goods! Some of the ways you can do this are through bold colors, creative layouts, and professional signage. Don't be afraid to go BIG. Banners, posters, and creative displays can make a huge impact. Remember, your booth should scream "COME CHECK ME OUT!" from across the room. You want to grab the attention of everyone walking by. That’s how you get people to notice you, stop by your booth, form a connection, and potentially PURCHASE. (Fun Fact: the longer your line and the more people who stop by your booth, the MORE people want to see what you’re all about). If you’re able to afford it, don’t go cheap in this area! Branding and displays are the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of attending events.
People LOVE getting involved. They love to feel like they’re a part of an experience. Give them something to do at your booth. Think touchscreens, games, product demos, photo booths, etc. Interactive elements not only keep visitors at your booth longer but also give you the chance to engage them in meaningful conversations. Make it FUN and memorable. This is your chance to put your business's BEST foot forward. Make it count.
Who can resist free stuff? Not many! But here's the catch: your swag should be useful and memorable. Skip the generic pens and opt for something that aligns with your brand and is practical for your audience. Custom tote bags, eco-friendly water bottles, or relatable tees, can leave a lasting impression. And don’t forget to include your contact info on everything. Your swag should remind them of YOU every time they use it. My favorite way to utilize this is through custom bags because they can put whatever they purchase in them and then they become a walking BILLBOARD for your booth.
Your booth staff are your brand ambassadors. Choose and TRAIN them wisely. They need to be energetic, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to be there. (Or at least appear to be!) A friendly smile and a welcoming attitude go a longgggg way, especially in this day and age where it feels like customer service is a dying art. TRAIN your team to engage visitors, answer questions, and close deals with confidence. Role-playing common scenarios beforehand can make a HUGE difference.
Everyone loves feeling special and a part of something unique or BIG. Offer exclusive event-only deals or discounts to entice visitors to make a purchase or sign up for your services on the spot. Running a contest or giveaway can also create buzz and draw a crowd. Just make sure it’s something your dream clients would REALLY want. The goal is to create a sense of urgency and exclusivity that makes them feel like VIPs.
The event may end, but your relationship with potential clients is just beginning. Have a solid follow-up plan in place. You’ll want to collect their contact information through sign-ups, contest entries, and purchases, and reach out within a few days after the event. A personalized email can turn those leads into loyal clients for life. Don’t let them forget about you or your BUSINESS!
